I grew up most of my life in
Sedona, Arizona. I attended college at Northern Arizona University
where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary
Education. I also recently completed my Master's Degree in Early
Childhood Education. Some things I enjoy and hope to incorporate
into our classroom are hiking, photography, painting, scrapbooking,
music, reading, food, and learning among many others!
I am very happy to be working at
Mountain School. To be at a school in which their main priority is
the children, is the best thing I could ask for. I am so happy to be
teaching the 1st and 2nd Multi-age class. |

 Teaching Philosophy
Children
learn first and foremost through play. Children construct
understanding from experiencing his or her environment. Children
learn on a spectrum and it is different for each one. By creating
opportunities for children to have control over their own learning
and knowledge creates success in all areas.
As a teacher it is my responsibility to
provide these opportunities to learn for my students. I use a
child-centered approach in my classroom and am a guide to help my
students through their developmental process as learners and
individuals. As their teacher I will be a support system and create
an environment that allows students to take risks and challenge
themselves in every way possible.
I will be using my classroom to help
create individuals who think and speak for themselves while still
being conscious of their environment. The classroom will have a
"team" or "family" mentality so there is an understanding that we
are all there for each other. |
